LUVFEST 2015: How to Win the Lottery

Stick a purple fork in another LUVFEST -- it's done!

On Saturday night, November 14th 2015, we moved the party to a new day and new location in pursuit of the same goal of putting meals into Pittsburgh area homes one family at a time. LUVFEST returned with the theme of "Lotto" because life is like a lottery: the odds might be stacked against you, and you may not know when your number's going to be called, but if you've got the support of your family and friends then you're always holding a winning ticket. We made sure those tickets were given out at the door, and every attendee was guaranteed to leave with at least one free hug!

This was an especially emotional night for us to get through as we paid tribute to the memories of both Billie Marlowe, the inspiration for this event, and our recently departed friend Marko Scott. The spirits of them both were still with us as everyone gathered and rallied to continue our tradition of looking out for those in need.

Once again, Pittsburgh-area families who need a helping hand to keep food in their homes will receive some love from our extended family to theirs. Thank you yet again to the dozens of supporters who came out to boost our spirits and share in the fun and festivities:

Nina and Jason Sauer, proprietors of Most Wanted Fine Art Gallery in Bloomfield/Garfield for hosting our event at your fine establishment!

DJ Daryll Poellnitz for providing the music that kept the party going. You were the sound and fury that kept everything in step, D.!

Elizabeth, Jacob, and Denise Tennant for food, chauffeuring, ticket selling, bodyguarding, and bouncer services! (Was there a doctor in the house? Didn't need one. We had two nurses!)

All Marlowes near and far: Connie Marlowe; Wally Marlowe; Denise and Roger Vandenbroek (and Charlie!);

Becki Lanko for providing the poster artwork for this year's theme and setting the tone for everything that followed!

The Winghart Family for the endless behind-the-scenes back-up. From raffle baskets to beverage taps to emotional fortification, you're a main artery pumping the lifeblood of this endeavor every year!

Jessica Renee for your energy, emotional fortification, mileage, and makeup services. You made us look good...and you looked pretty great yourself! (Call us!)

John Zarazowski for always doing whatever is asked of him. Thanks, buddy!

Our local businesses and organizations: Row House Cinema; House of the Dead; The X; Wildcard; Phantom of the Attic; Moquette Volante; The Heinz History Center; Dan the Sausageman; [More to Come]

Our local restaurants: Winghart's; Franktuary; [More to Come]

Our artists: Shawn Atkins, Matthew Buchholz, Matthew Butkus, Richard Frost, David Rogers, Marcel Walker [More to Come]

Blah blah blah.

And that's how you win at the LUVFEST Lotto! We hope to see you all again next year.  Remember to bring a friend or five!

Thanks again, everyone -- Billie and Marko are surely proud of you all!
